Brackley Recycling has achieved ISO 9001 certification, marking an important step in how we manage our recycling and secure data destruction services. Our quality management system has been independently assessed against the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Certification was completed through Citation ISO Certification. Certificate number 508662026 is valid from 27 January 2026 to 27 January 2027.
We pursued certification to put a clear, consistent structure around the way we work. As the business has grown, so have the number of collections, customer requirements, records, suppliers and processing decisions that need to be managed properly.
Why we pursued ISO 9001 certification
Recycling and data destruction involve much more than collecting unwanted equipment. Customers need to know what will be accepted, how data-bearing devices will be handled, what records will be provided and where equipment or materials will go next.
We wanted those parts of the service to follow documented processes rather than relying on memory or informal arrangements. ISO 9001 gave us a recognised framework for reviewing how work moves through the business, assigning responsibilities and keeping suitable records.
The work included reviewing our procedures for e-waste collection and intake, data wiping and destruction, equipment testing, dispatch and recycling. We also strengthened supplier and subcontractor reviews, management reviews and purchasing records.
What ISO 9001 means in practice
ISO 9001 is a quality management standard. It requires a business to define how its work is carried out, keep appropriate records, review performance and act when something needs correcting or improving.
For Brackley Recycling, that means using controlled procedures for key activities, keeping clearer records and regularly reviewing how well the system is working. It also means looking at customer feedback, supplier performance, risks and opportunities as part of normal business management.
Certification is not a one-off exercise. The system must continue to be used, reviewed and improved. That practical discipline is the main reason we chose to pursue it.
What it means for our customers
For customers using our IT recycling, e-waste collection or secure data destruction services, the value is straightforward: the work is supported by a documented quality system.
Clearer service information
We aim to confirm what we can accept, any charges, the collection arrangements and the agreed data-destruction requirement before work starts.
Consistent handling
Collections and data-bearing equipment follow defined procedures. This supports a more consistent service across routine collections, larger clearances and jobs involving confidential information.
Better records
Waste documentation, processing records and Certificates of Destruction can form an important part of a customer’s own compliance records. Our quality system supports the way those records are created, checked and retained.
A formal review process
If a problem or concern is identified, it can be recorded, investigated and used to improve the process. We also review suppliers and subcontractors rather than treating those relationships as set-and-forget arrangements.
Quality management and secure data destruction
ISO 9001 is not an information-security certification and does not replace the specific controls needed for secure data destruction. The protection of customer data still depends on the agreed handling process, the destruction method, controlled records and the people carrying out the work.
What ISO 9001 adds is a structured management system around those activities. It helps us define the process, check that it is being followed and make changes when the evidence shows that an improvement is needed.
An ongoing commitment
Achieving certification is a useful milestone, but the real work is continuing to use the system. We will keep reviewing our procedures, records, suppliers and customer feedback as Brackley Recycling develops.
